Gloria Jean Caprino, age 82 of Marion, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Marion General Hospital.

Gloria was born January 18, 1940 in Marion, the daughter of Anthony Donald and May Elizabeth (Bumgartner) Caprino. She was educated in Marion and graduated from Harding High School. Gloria continued her education Lima Memorial and the Ohio State University where she earned her Bachelor and Master's degree in Nursing.

Gloria served as a Registered Nurse for many years practicing nursing at Marion General Hospital. She later went on to be an educator of nursing at Marion Technical College.

Gloria loved sports and was an avid Ohio State fan, even following them to the Rose Bowl, as well as the Cleveland Indians. She cheered on her great nephews, great nieces and great great nephew at all of their sporting events. Gloria was an incredible baker and perfected her cooking skills by watching cooking shows. She enjoyed spending time with friends at the YMCA and the Marion Senior Center's Silver Sneakers group. She and her sister, Betty, loved to travel all across the country and enjoyed cruises as well. Above all, family is was what Gloria valued the most in life and loved them all deeply.

She is survived by her nieces: Cheri Caprino, Julie (Ryan) Hamilton, and Gretchen (Mark) Niswonger; great nieces and great nephews: Megan Barlow, Mary Barlow, Zach Hamilton, Ben Hamilton, and Nick Hamilton; great great niece and great great nephews: Peyton Wood, John Paul and Carol Niswonger.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Don Caprino, Carol Lieb and Betty Caprino.

Visitation will be Friday, July 1, 2022 at Snyder Funeral Homes, Denzer Chapel, 360 East Center St., Marion from 12:30PM to 2PM; graveside service will follow at Marion Cemetery at 2:15PM.
