Aaron was the son of Absalom Rhodes, Sr., and Mary Barton Rhodes. Aaron was married to Elizabeth Catherine Beale. They had three children: 1) Mary Louisa Rhodes (1831-1880) who married William M. Joseph (1826-1892) 2) Charles Aaron Rhodes (1835-1897) who married Elizabeth Burkes (1839-1881) and Martha Elizabeth Rhodes (1837-1924) who married first John Aaron Floyd (1829-1859) and married second Eldred Byrd McClendon (1838-1902).

Aaron's obituary was in The Georgia Constituationalist, Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia, 31 March 1838, pg 3, and stated: " Died --- On Tuesday the 27th inst., at his residence on Spirit Creek, Captain AARON RHODES, in the 32nd year of his age."

Gravesite Details

Many of the markers in this cemetery, as was the one for Aaron Rhodes, were dug up from beneath the soil surface. Most of the stones are broken. Aaron's stone is broken in half.
