Lucy was born on 30 Jan 1902. During her teen years she helped her brothers on the Kimball farm, doing the cooking, housework and light farm chores. She also cooked at a small cafe in Kimball where she met Oscar Tonneson, who had just returned from serving in WWI and was managing the local lumber yard. Lucy and Oscar were married on 3 Jun 1922. She went by her given name, Lucille, after her marriage.
They initially lived in Dwight, North Dakota; then moved to Maurice, Iowa; and Odin, Minnesota; before settling in Fairmot, Minnesota, where Oscar was a carpenter and managed lumber companies. He also built their house in Fairmont. Lucy and Oscar had 3 children: Fern (b. 22 Apr 1923; d. 10 Apr 2011); Howard (b. 2 May 1927; d. 5 Dec 1981); and Robert.
Lucy died 2 Jun 1952, at age 50, from cancer and is buried at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont.
