Joyce was employed by Calhoun Community College, by Electrolux, and was an Avon Lady, prior to her passing. She was a member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church for over 70 years and held several leadership roles in United Methodist Women, MYF and the Church Board. She served and supported her children in their extracurricular and school activities. She was a 1953 graduate of Morgan County High School.
Preceding her in death were her parents, former husband- Raymond Brown, husband - Julis Legg, and special friend- Medford Long.
