Joe Cook of Yuba City, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 16, 2022, surrounded by his wife of 55 years, Kathleen, and three generations of his loved ones. Joe was born on July 23, 1938 in Houston, Texas to James Harvey Cook and Annie Mae Cooksey. He was a Carpenter and Car Dealer and has lived in the Yuba Sutter area for 39 years.
Joe was a member of the U.S. Navy for 6 years from 1955 to 1961 where he served on the USS Midway from 1955 to 1958. He was a member of Twin Cities Church Of Christ for the past 20 Years.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen Cook; daughter Debbie Williams of Palestine, Texas; son Jim Cook of Bullard Texas; son Gary Cook of Concord, CA; son John Cook of Antioch,CA; daughter Susan Thompson of Sutter, CA; daughter Nita Kurtz of Live Oak, CA; son Brian Cook of Yuba City CA; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Joe was preceded in death by son David Cook; great-grandson Christopher Chaney; and great-granddaughter Gracie Thompson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 4PM-7PM at Ullrey Memorial Chapel. Services will be on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 11:00AM at Twin Cities Church Of Christ with Jack Mayberry officiating. Interment will be at Live Oak Cemetery.
