Jimmy Cook
Time and date of funeral services for James Harvey (Jimmy) Cook, 88, of Rt. 1 Brownsboro, who died Monday, will be announced later by Hassell & Foster. Services will be held in the Elkhart Church of Christ with Joe Gay, L. E. Carpenter, Rayburn Darnell and W. W. Cooksey officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories, Elkhart.
The following brothers-in-law will serve as pallbearers: Johnny Cooksey, Charlie Cooksey, Frank Cooksey, Archie Cooksey, Edward Cooksey, Hubert Cooksey and W. W. Cooksey.
Mr. Cook was born in Houston County on March 12, 1880 to the late James Harvey Cook and Mrs. Susan Teague Cook. He was pronounced dead on arrival at a Tyler clinic at 11:30 a.m. Monday following a sudden illness. A retired farmer, he lived in the Elkhart area most of his life, and prior to moving to Chandler, he lived in Tyler a few months. He was a member of the Brownsboro Church of Christ.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Annie Mae Cooksey Cook, Chandler; four sons, Jimmy Lee Cook of Mesquite, Bobby Cook of Chandler, Joe Cook of Portland, Oregon, and Kenneth Cook of San Francisco; two daughters, Mrs. A. L. Anderson of Germany, and Mrs. Ed Beck of Tyler; 20 grandchildren; a double first cousin, Dozier Smith of Crockett.
The body will be at Hassell & Foster.
