Emma Florence Wilcox, daughter of Thomas and Martha Wilcox was born April 13, 1875 at Cleveland, Ohio. When very small she moved with her parents to a farm near the Kenyon farm in Minnesota, living there until about 6 years of age, at which time, her parents, too, came to Dakota Territory, settling near Milbank. She was educated in the Willow Bend rural school near Milbank.
Judson and Emma were married at the home of her sister on Sunday September 20, 1896 and they began farming near Milbank. A few years later they moved to the Kenyon farm in Deuel County and then to a farm one mile north of Moritz. In the fall of 1907 they moved to Gary where in years to follow Judson managed all three elevators. In 1915 Judson purchased a half interest in the hardware with the late John Stevens and continued in that business until February 1946. He had served on the school board in both rural and city districts and for many years was a member of the City Council. To this union seven children were born, Helen, Harvey and Norman having passed away, leaving to mourn Mrs. Robert (Olive) Kelly, Claremont, SD, Orville of Eveleth, Minnesota, J. Elbridge of Gary, and Mrs. Thomas (Isabel) Zimmerman of Maynard, Minnesota. Sixteen grand children and on brother, A.W. Kenyon of Gary, and two sisters, Mrs. A.E. (Luella) Kelsey and Mrs. Myrtle Wilcox, of California also survive, as well as many other relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Kenyon were active members of the Presbyterian Church and both, for many ears, had been members of the Odd Fellows and Rebekah lodges. In 1946 the golden wedding anniversary was observed. In the early morning of May 25th both slept peacefully and passed away.
