Teresa Diana Penland Norris, 50, of the Thompson Valley community in Tazewell, Va., passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born August 31, 1957 in Bluefield, she was the daughter of Robert and Ellen Thompson Penland of Thompson Valley, Va. Teresa was a graduate of Tazewell High School, Class of 1975. After graduation, she worked 20 years for Thompson & Litton, Inc. of Tazewell, Va. From that time, she became a wife and homemaker.
One brother, Robert Penland, Jr. preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of over 20 years, Perry A. Norris; two brothers, Randy Alan Penland and wife, Clara of Tannersville, Va., and David Bradley Penland and wife, Traci of Tazewell, Va.; her nephew, Daniel Alexander Penland; and very special niece, Justine Nicole Penland; and her loving dog, Molly, who will miss her so.
According to Teresa's wishes, her body will be cremated and her remains buried at a later date at the Necessary Cemetery in Tannersville, Va. A service celebrating Teresa's life will also be planned at that time.
In lieu of flowers, and as a lasting memorial to Teresa, contributions may be made to Celebrate Recovery, at Destiny Outreach Ministries, 160 Ireson Rd., North Tazewell, VA 24630.
