Vinita Bartholomai, of Atlanta, died Saturday, December 20, 2003. The only child of Fred and Johanna Marie (Swanson) Siegmeier and the granddaughter of Fred and Caroline (Nehls) Siegmeier and of Nels and Olena (Pearson) Swanson, she was born at Fort Worth, TX, where she attended Texas Women's College. She had been a resident of Atlanta since 1941 and was retired after secretarial employment with the Railroad Retirement Board and the Centers for Disease Control. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of The Redeemer, where she was formerly active in Altar Guild, Food Ministry, Quilters, and Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. She was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees; and the National Railway Historical Society. She was married in Fort Worth in 1935 to Walter Raymond Pearson, who died in 1959. She is survived by her husband, C. W. Bartholomai (whom she married in 1966). Other survivors are first cousins, Adelyne (Siegmeier) Mirfield of Margate, FL and Harry Renderman of Tinley Park, IL; more distant cousins, nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 23rd at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer with Dr. Robert F. Sims officiating. Interment at Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 731 Peachtree St., N.E., Atlanta, GA 30308. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
