She was a graduate of Dennysville High School, eorked for the Busy Bee in Gray, as the track secretary for Bangor and at the track st Scarborough Downs.
She was a member of the Maine Harness Horseman Association, Maine Breeders Association, and Pembroke Trotting Association. Anna's favorite pastimes included harness racing and attending all of the Maine state fairs.
Anna loved puzzles of all kinds, including word finders and crossword puzzles, singer Willie Nelson, going to casinos, lottery tickets and Kentucky Fried Chicken.
She is survived by her children, David Blackwood and his wife Helen; and her son-in-law, Jeffrey Pierce Sr.; her grandchildren, David Blackwood Jr., Mark Blackwood, Michael Blackwood, Christopher Blackwood, Tonya Pierce and Jeffrey Pierce Jr.; many great-grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Dana Cox; and many nieces and nephews, including Tammy and James Ramsdell Sr., who were particularly close to Anna.
She was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, Cecil Blackwood Jr., in 2011; her daughter, Donna, in 2020; and siblings and in-laws, George and Violet Stevens, Jane and Kenny Seeley, Mary Stevens and James and Ann Stevens.
Friends and family are invited to a graveside committal service at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Forest Hill Cemetery in Pembroke.
