Petra was a Native American of the Cahuilla nation. She was 11 or 12 years old and the daughter of Jose Antonio, a Native American neophyte of Mission Santa Catalina in Baja California. Petra died in Los Angeles County, California and was buried on 16 July 1855 at Old Calvary Cemetery.
