Christine Chambers Pruit, 78, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2022 in Jacksboro.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 4 at First United Methodist Church in Jacksboro with a burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Christine was born on October 21, 1943 in Jacksboro to Collin and Grace Chambers. She married the love of her life, Morris Pruit on June 23, 1960 in Lovington, New Mexico.
It is always difficult to summarize a person's life in just a few paragraphs. Especially, a life that was so rich and fulfilled as Christines. Chris was an accomplished artist even giving art lessons when she and Morris lived in Lubbock. To be cherished forever, many of her paintings grace the walls in the homes of her family members.
She was a successful business woman, former member of Jacksboro Chamber of Commerce, member of the Red Hat Society, and member of the First United Methodist Church.
Her greatest occupations however, were those of wife, mother, grand mother and great grandmother. ALWAYS taking care of each and everyone of us in her kind and loving way.
And cook. Oh my goodness. Everything that Chris cooked or baked always tasted like a little piece of Heaven. However, when they were newly weds, Morris said there was a little bit of a ''learning curve'' in the cooking department.
Everyone in the family has a fond memory of playing dominoes, cards, or any myriad of board games with Chris. She loved us all dearly, but she was a staunch competitor, and her main goal was to beat us all at whatever game we played.
You will see that we have asked that if you so wish, please consider giving a donation to the Jacksboro Animal Shelter in her memory. There was never an animal that came into Christine's life that she didn't love, and vice versa.
A beautiful soul, inside and out, we will all miss her more than we can even express. But, we all take comfort in knowing, we will all be re-united one day.
"She clothed herself in strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future." --Proverbs 31:25
Christine is preceded in death by her parents; son, Don Pruit; and sister Colleen Schultz.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include husband Morris; sons, Aaron Pruit and wife D'awn, Charlie Pruit and wife Tracy; grandchildren, Michelle Kirkland, Krista Reddy, Mo Pruit, Cassidy Pruit, Camrie Pruit, and several great grandchildren.
