Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Hamilton's Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, with burial to follow in the Bondurant Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Jeri was born March 8, 1934 to Ora and Laura Atherton on the family farm in rural Bondurant where she continued to live till her death. Jeri graduated from Bondurant High School and married her high school sweetheart, Jerry, at Bondurant Christian Church. They were the first couple to be married in the newly built church.
Jeri and her husband enjoyed traveling all over the country, almost making it to all 50 states, and also to Mexico, Spain, Bahamas, and many other places. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and attended the Christian Women's Club. Jeri looked forward to her monthly luncheons with a neighbor group of women called the "Birthday Club". She flipped a few houses before it was a "thing" and loved her cats. Her greatest joy came from spending time and making memories with her family.
Jeri is survived by her daughters, Kyle (Mike Booth) Carney, and Kristyn Brown; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald "Jerry"; daughters, Jill and Leslianne; grandson, Shaun; and six sisters.
