RANVILLE, Marcel L. - Of Grand Blanc, age 102, died Saturday, May 28, 2022 at his residence. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am Friday, June 3, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Father Joseph J. Krupp officiating. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation 2-8pm Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 9:30am Friday at church until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Marcel was born in Flint, Michigan on May 29, 1919, the son of the late Alexander and Ellen (Phaneuf) Ranville. Marcel served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was an avid bowler until he was 99. Marcel participated in the Veterans Honor Flight to Washington DC. He was a member of the VFW #822, member of Holy Family Catholic Church for 64 years, and a member of the Knights of Columbus #695. Marcel embodies the true meaning of God, Family and Country.

Surviving are children, Paul (Joanne) Ranville, daughter-in-law, Connie, Theresa (Denny) Owens, Tim (Anne) Ranville, Patty O'Connor, Ginger (Royce) Bowman, Mark (Sally) Ranville, Anne (Wes) Bond, and Tom (Rose) Ranville; 22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; Sister, Jeannette Pouliot; And several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ellen and son, Raymond.
