LAWRENCE WORLD, FEB 15, 1901

The death and burial of Osbun Shannon is of more than passing interest. Mr. Shannon came of a distinguished family. His father was Governor of Ohio and afterwards territorial Governor of Kansas. Mr. Shannon was himself a man of ability and prominence. Of late, misfortune had engulfed him but he was always a likeable fellow and people of Lawrence feel a person sorrow in his death. Gov. and Mrs. Shannon are both buried in Oak Hill cemetery as well as are other members of the distinguished family.
