Katy was born on May 16, 1963 in Minneapolis, MN to Jim and Arlene (Keehr) Coplan. Her early years were spent with her family in Bethel, MN before moving to Ogilvie, MN. She later moved away to Arizona and Texas before returning home in 1992 to raise her children close to family.

In 1998, Katy met the love of her life, John Burk, and they married in 2000. Katy enjoyed her life in the country, fishing, hunting, horseback riding. She was also an avid sports and animal lover. Katy had huge heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. She couldn't sit still and was always fixing something and though she didn't always have much, she gave everything she had to friends and family. She was also a loyal employee, serving meals for almost 20 years at the Milaca County Jail.

She was a fantastic mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Katy will be missed by all who knew her.

Katy was preceded in death by her husband John, her father Jim, sister-in-law Judy, and her grandparents.

Katy is survived by her daughters, Brandi and Tomi; son Anthony, mother Arlene, sisters Chris (Greg) Carlson, Connie (Jim) Springer, Sue (Brad) Houtsma, Sandy (Dale) Williford; brothers Dean Coplan, Jamie (Barb) Coplan and Corey Coplan; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
