Rites Saturday
Services for John H. Baker, 83, of 1009 Leach ave, a retired stationary fireman, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery. Mr. Baker died of a stroke Wednesday at the Link Nursing Home. 4401 S.W. Ninth St., after an illness of two years. Born in Houston, Mo., he had lived here 35 years. Surviving are his widow, Ella Mae; two sons, DeLoss A. and Claude M. of Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Blanche Gilmore of Newton and Mrs. Margie Flege in California; three brothers, Walter of Blackwell. Okla., and Eli and Virgil of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Alta Ogles of Houston; two stepsons, Kenneth Daniels of Ottumwa and Robert Daniels of Des Moines; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
