LIEURANCE FAMILY HISTORY AS REMEMBERED BY CYNTHIA LIEURANCE CRAWFORD
OREN THOMAS CRAWFORD (husband of Cynthia)
Born January 13, 1865, in Topeka, Kansas, he attended grade school, high school in Topeka, he also attended Lincoln University at the corner of 10th St.
and Jackson in Topeka (later known as Washburn College). He married Cynthia Ann Lieurance, in 1914, in Eureka, Kansas. Two sons were born: Thomas Jr.,
November 19, 1915, at Neosha Falls, Kansas. And James Stanton, August 1, 1923, at Eureka, Kansas. Later the family moved to Nickerson, Kansas area,
where Oren worked on the Yaggy Plantation. He a lso worked at the Reno Co. courthouse, in later years; he died August 23, 1956, in Hutchinson, Kansas.
CHILDREN OF OREN THOMAS AND CYNTHIA L. CRAWFORD
Thomas Junior (elder son), b. Nov. 19, 1915 in Neosha Falls, Ks. and died on
Oct. 3, 1970 in Mahatten, Ks. He graduated from Kansas State University, and sold insurance in Hutchinson, Ks. He served in World War II, as a Warrant officer in the Army, and was stationed on Hew Hibrides Islands, fro 39 months. He previously had been in the National Guard. He married Avis Johnson,(b.March, 1915) from Sterling, Ks.(a teacher), about 1940.
James Stanton Crawford (younger son), born Aug.1, 1923, in Eureka, Ks., he also served in World War II as a sergent in radio repair, for the U.S. Army, in France adn Germany. He attended Fort Hays College, and Hutchinson Junior College, and graduated from University of Kansas, in 1949, in Lawrence, Ks.
He married Dorothy Jean James (b.Jan.3,1928 in Schenectady, N.Y.) of West Caldwell, New Jersey, on Dec. 22, 1948, in Lawrence. He was hired by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. upon graduation; and retired in 1980, to sell Real Estate in Topeka, Ks. He died Feb.16, 1994.
Three children were born: Deborah Jean- b. Aug. 24, 1950, in Wichita, Ks.- now
living in Denver (1985)

Roderick James- b. Oct. 17, 1952, Wellington, Ks.
Scott Neil- b. March 12, 1955, Greensburg, Ks.
Both sons are currently living in Topeka--1985
Roderick James Crawford married Juanita Anne Jackson, (b. Jan.4, 1950) in Topeka, Ks. on Dec. 28, 1974. Both graduated from Kansas State Univ.
Children born were: Aaron James- June 24,1978, Topeka, Ks.
Sally Anne- Dec.1, 1980, Topeka, Ks.
Scott Neil Crawford married (2nd) Donna (Mohney)Corcoran on July 14, 1989
Her son--Chad Edward b. Feb.14, 1986. Their children:Damon Scott-- b.June9,1987 and Alexander James--b. Sept. 16, 1991.

Mrs. Oren Crawford
Mrs. Cynthia Ann Crawford, 76, 123 East Blanchard, South Hutchinson, died Thursday morning at St. Elizabeth's Hospital after an illness of a few weeks. Born in Neosho Falls July 29, 1889, she moved here from Nickerson in 1946. Her husband died Aug.23, 1956.
Member: South Hutchinson Methodist Church.
Survivors: Sons, T.J., 711 West 22nd; James S., Topeka; step-son, William Crawford, Fort Worth, Tex.; three grandchildren.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, Elliott Chapel, Rev. Paul Mugler officiating.
Burial: Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson.
