Mr. Phillip Morgan Haddock, 73, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 am in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Phillip was born and raised in Pitt County on a farm. He was a graduate of Winterville High School in 1968. After high school he joined the National Guard during the Vietnam conflict. He was self-employed for over 30 years as the owner and operator of Phil Haddock Plumbing of Ayden. He was a very good athlete in High School in baseball and basketball and was awarded all conference in both sports. He as a dedicated coach in Ayden Little League for over 12 years. He was a very big supporter of East Carolina University sports, especially football and was a member of the Pirate Club.
He enjoyed coaching baseball, drag racing, playing golf, deer hunting and fishing and enjoyed walking around the farm. His most recent love was watching his grandson Peyton play baseball.
Most importantly, he will be remembered for the love he had for his sons and grandsons.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents Lyman and Cassie Haddock; and brothers, Ronald, Wilton and Graham Haddock; and sisters, Mildred Haddock Jackson and Alice Haddock Chudnoff.
He is survived by two sons; two grandsons; a brother; and several nieces and nephews.
