Walter Roy "Red" Chain was born June 24,1918 in Indian Territory at Hunter,Oklahoma to Albert Monroe & Annie Mae Slaten (Monroe) He Proudly served in the Navy. Worked in Construction as a Back Hoe Operator for many years. Walter loved to Travel and enjoyed the fine art of "junking". Was very easy going and had a wonderful sense of humor. A man of his word and loved life, his family & friends. He will truly be missed. He married Sylvania Phillips on Sept.16,1990
in Wichita FAlls.
He passed away on Oct.2,2006 in Wichita Falls. Graveside
services were held at 4PM on Oct.4, 2006 at Crestview Memorial Park with Randy Osborn Officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hampton Vaughn Crestview. Survivors
include his wife Sylvania Chain, his beloved Step-children,
Mary Jo Ballard,& Fred Dwyer of Wichita Falls. One son Walter David Chain of Pinellas,Florida. One Sister,
Katherine Bonds of Wichita Falls. Had 10 Step-Grandchildren: Shanon,Debbie,Janelle,Don,Jr.Charla,Ashley,Cody.Tammy,Julie,
& JoEll. Eleven Great-Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents,Annie Mae(Monroe)Chain-1973 & Step-father Fred Chain-1968.Father Albert Monroe-1961,a sister Valle Rue Chain-1940 & 3 brothers, Charlie (Monroe)Chain in 1995, David Chain in 1997,and Carl Chain,jr. -2002
One Step-son Don Dwyer. Visitation was held 6:30 to 8:30 PM on Oct.3,2006. Memorials may be made to American Hospice.
