He was the son of James Oliver and Ida Frances (Morris) Bailey and married Daisy Lee Johnson. His obituary follows:

Reuben Bailey, Cowan, Dies --

Reuben Bailey of Cowan, retired construction worker, died last Wednesday in Vanderbilt Hospital following an extended illness. He was 67.

Services were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Moore-Cprtner Funeral Home. The Rev. Clarence Adams officiated. Burial was in Montgomery Cemetery.

Mr. Bailey was a Franklin County native, born February (20), 1910. He was the son of James O. and Ida Frances Morris Bailey.

Survivors are two sons, Ronnie Bailey and Alton Bailey, Florida; four sisters, Miss Verdie Bailey and Mrs. Ethel Richards, both of Cowan, Mrs. Lila Northcutt, Winchester, and Mrs. Elsie Reider, Battle Creek, Michigan; four brothers, Jesse Bailey, Howard Bailey, and Arthur Bailey, all of Cowan, and Herbert Bailey, Pontiac, Michigan; and a number of grandchildren.
