On March 6, 2022 Emil passed out of this world very quietly with his family around him expressing their love for him. He was born in a farmhouse just outside Richardton, North Dakota on October 6, 1935 to Mary Siller-Senn and Adam Senn.

After graduating from Assumption Abbey High School at Richardton, Emil attended McPhail School of Music in Minneapolis, MN. The summer before graduating with a bachelor's degree in Music Education, Emil married Marilyn Kuhn on July 28, 1958 at St. Mary's Church in Richardton, ND. Marilyn taught elementary education at Bloomington, MN while Emil finished his senior year at McPhail. After graduation, both Emil and Marilyn signed contracts to teach in Augusta, WI. Emil went on to teach in Turtle Lake, WI, and later, in New Richmond, WI for 17 years as junior high instrumental instructor for 6th and 8th grade bands, and as head of the music department. While teaching he obtained a master's degree in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. Emil and Marilyn's first son, Perry, was born in 1960, followed by Paul, born in 1962, who died as an infant. In 1964, Michael was born with Dale completing the family in 1966. The family's fondest memories are from summers spent fishing, boating, canoeing and camping on their remote plot of land in northern Wisconsin.

Leaving Wisconsin in 1982, the Senn family purchased and operated a moving and storage business in Phoenix, AZ for several years. After selling their business, Emil served as a Relocation Consultant for Daniel's Moving and Storage in Phoenix. Emil was top salesperson for several years, winning trips in the U.S. and Italy. Always an incredibly strong work ethic, Emil finally retired at age 75.

Emil always maintained his love of music, and he and Marilyn belonged to several choirs, including the ASU Choral Union, with performances in France, England, and the Phoenix Symphony. Emil also enjoyed traveling, and he and Marilyn toured many states in addition to Germany.

Emil will always be remembered as a very kind and fair man, greeting everyone with a smile. His passion for music took him off the farm, provided a vibrant start for his family and continued throughout his life. His love for Marilyn, from the start, allowed a life together of 63 years of marriage - illustrating to us the power and value in following our heart with all our might.

Emil leaves behind his wife, Marilyn; sons, Perry, of Longmont, CO, Michael (Deborah) of Folsom, CA, and Dale of Mesa, AZ; grandson, Blake Senn (Mike and Deborah), and granddaughters Laurel Senn (Mike and Deborah) and Emily Senn (Perry); his sister, Shirley Jones, of St. Paul, MN, and many nieces and nephews. Emil was preceded in death by his infant son, Paul, his parents Adam and Mary, and siblings Rosalyn, Leonard and Gary.

A funeral Mass will be said for Emil's intention on Friday March 11, 2022 at the multi-purpose room of St. John Bosco Catholic School, at 16035 S.48th St, Phoenix, AZ, 85048. It is adjacent to St. Benedict Catholic Church on 48th St.

Donations may be sent to the Building Fund of St. Benedict Church, 16223 S. 48th St., Phoenix, AZ, 85048; or to the St. Vincent de Paul Society (same address on online) in Emil's honor.
