Born April 3, 1936 in Hanover, he was a son of the late John H. and Mamie S. (Bankert) Sterner.
Harold was a loving husband and father; he cherished his family and loved spending time with them. Harold worked at Hoffein's Brothers Inc. as a concrete finisher for many years, retiring in 1998. He regularly attended Springville Chapel in Craley and in his free time he enjoyed going to the Southern Gospel Concerts at Calvary Christian Center in Abbottstown and listening to Gospel music on channel 49.12.
Mr. Sterner is survived by a daughter, Kelly S. Sterner of Hanover; a sister, Ruthetta Maloney and many loving extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Harold was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Malcolm Sterner and a sister, Louise Eline.
A service to celebrate the life of Harold O. Sterner will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022 at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Rev. Fred Mummert officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Angels, 104 Carlisle St #1, Hanover, PA 17331 or to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601.
