Mrs. Essie Florence Bateman, 69, former Dunlap resident who had lived in Princeville the past two years died Monday in a Peoria Hospital where she had been a patient for 16 days. She had been in ill health for three years.
Funeral services will be held Friday in the Bouton Memorial Home in Princeville with Rev. Samuel Parker of the Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in the village cemetery.
Born on September 12, 1889, in Shockton, Ohio, she was a daughter of John and Elizabeth Chaney Van Sickle. She was married to Frank Bateman October 22, 1914, in Shockton and they came to Illinois in 1915. She attended the Princeville Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, one son, Glenn of Princeville, one daughter, Mrs. Francis Allen of St. Petersburg, Fla., and one sister, Mrs. Rhonda Koch. Two sisters and one brother died earlier.
