Edna was the daughter of the late Charlie and Mary E. Platt.

Edna received her Bachelor's degree in Education from Lander University. She taught in Brunswick County for over 40 years and after retirement continued as a substitute teacher for more than 20 years at North Myrtle Beach Elementary. Teaching children was truly her passion and her students loved Mrs. Bellamy.

As an active member of the First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach for 68 years, she served the church in many ways including Sunday school teacher, choir member, and president of her Sunday school class. Her friends, family, and community will remember Edna as a woman of God with a servant's heart, willing to care for anyone who needed a helping hand, a home cooked meal, or a prayerful heart.

Edna enjoyed cooking and hosting at the holidays. Her greatest joys were spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 72 years, William J. "Pete" Bellamy; her son Chuck Bellamy (Pam); daughters Lila Mungo (Greg); Edna Walker (Joe); a sister Charlene Platt; grandsons Chip Bellamy (Mylissa); Chris Bellamy (Christina); Charlie Bellamy (Natalie); Joshua Walker (Kimberlee); granddaughter Heather Allison (Greg); her great-grandchildren, Will, Isaac, Samuel, Olivia, Emma, Luke; and niece, Vonna Gengo. Her sister Lois Bellamy and great grandson Matthew Bellamy predeceased Edna.
