Daniel Miller Krady, 93, formerly of Harleysville, PA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth Good Krady with whom he shared over 56 years of marriage.

Daniel was born on February 4, 1929, in the parsonage at the East Vine Street Mission in Lancaster PA, to the late Daniel Stoner and Frances Zimmerman (Miller) Krady. Upon graduating from Lancaster Mennonite High School in 1947, he went to Eastern Mennonite College in Harrisonburg VA where he was elected class president and graduated in 1951. It was there he met Ruth, whom he would later marry. Devoted to serve Christ, he traveled with the touring chorus at EMC and later joined the Franconia Choral Singers led by Hiram Hershey.

Dan and Ruth were married on July 26, 1952, in Scottdale, PA. They were both schoolteachers and Dan soon became principal at Franconia Mennonite School (FMS, currently Dock Mennonite Academy). They were members of Perkasie Mennonite Church where he was song leader, his pitch pipe always at hand. He wrote articles which were published in the Mennonite Quarterly and preached for the radio ministry 'Back to the Bible Broadcast'. In 1965, Dan earned his Master of Education degree from Temple University, Philadelphia PA.

After retiring from his career at FMS, he worked at Harleysville Insurance Company as a claims adjuster, then as a supervisor. Dan and Ruth became members of Pennridge Full Gospel Tabernacle in Blooming Glen PA. He continued his love for music and poetry with his autoharp and narrating for cantatas. Dan was thoughtful, eloquent, and witty, thoroughly enjoying family picnics and walks through their gardens. They traveled to Alberta to visit the Goods where Ruth had lived before college and spoke of the breathtaking views and spectacular sights shared with their loved ones there.

Daniel is survived by his children, Brian Krady, Brent Krady and his wife Gail, Garth Krady, Lynn Krady, Robyn Briner and her husband Jonathan, Sonya Lerch and her husband Chris, Julian Krady, and Kellie Porter and her husband Scott; 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; siblings, James Krady, Lois Hartzler and Betty Kelsey. Daniel was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Good Krady; their oldest son, Jan Alan Krady; his oldest brother, Paul Henry Krady; and his four older sisters, Elva Krady, Ruth Lehman, Naomi Lehman, and Rhoda Lehman.

A Celebration of Life for Daniel will take place at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Silverdale Brethren in Christ Church, 167 W. Main St, Silverdale PA 18962, where the family will greet guests following the service. Interment is private.
