"Mrs. Helen Ruth Rooney, 51, of 5449 N. Askew, died Monday at North Kansas City Hospital. She was born in Pleasant Hill, Mo., and had lived here 35 years. Mrs. Rooney had been a bookkeeper for the North Land Auto Co. six years. She was a member of St Andrew's Catholic Church. She leaves her husband, Robert V. Rooney of the home; three sons, Robert W. Rooney of Gladstone, Bryan Rooney of North Kansas City and Blake Rooney of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Wood of Kansas City; two brothers, Harold Warren of Gladstone and Ben Warren of Quinsey, Mo.; seven sisters, Mrs. Frances Robertson and Mrs. Millie Corlew of Pleasant Hill, Mrs. Dorothy Monroe and Mrs. Patty Madison of Kansas City, Mrs. Laurel Northrup and Mrs. Madelyn Oberweather of Lee's Summit and Mrs. Loubelle Pozek of Independence; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church; burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society."
