Mrs. Annie Overstreet Cecil, 81 years old, died Saturday in Lexington after a long illness. She was a former resident of Harrodsburg and the widow of M. H. Cecil, who was a prominent citizen here and active in affairs of the community during his life.

Mrs. Cecil was a native of Jessamine county, the daughter of Jeff and Sarah Overstreet, members of old families in that section. She was a woman of unusual intellect and personality, interested always in her church and ready to give it service as long as her health permitted.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gore Moberley and Miss Sarah Cecil, of Lexington, formerly of Harrodsburg; a sister, Miss Nannie Overstreet, and a brother, Mr. Alvie Overstreet, both of Wilmore.
Mrs. Cecil's funeral service was held at the grave in the family lot in Spring Hill cemetery Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with Dr. John W. Carpenter, pastor of the United Presbyterian church, conducting the service. Pall bearers were John Reed, Lexington; Col. John M. Moberley, H. T. Soaper, Dr. J. B. RoBards, Capt. Eugene Bisset, Charles Davis.

A number of relatives and friends from Louisville, Danville, Lexington and other places, and local people attended the services.
