Edgar "Toby" Hullum passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

Edgar was born December 31, 1939, to Delois Hullum & Lydia Utsey Hullum. He grew up in Teague, Texas and graduated from Teague High School in 1958. He moved to Baytown and enrolled in Lee College for 2 years where he married Betty Ann Morgan on July 8, 1960. They moved to College Station so that he could attend Texas A&M University where he earned a Business degree with a major in Accounting. After graduation in 1962 they returned to Baytown where he accepted a position in accounting, working the next 6 years for Humble Pipe Line. August of 1967 was a life changing career moment for him as he passed the CPA Exam and received his CPA License

In 1968 he began his professional career as a Certified Public Accountant working for the next 32 years as a partner with Jim Gerace and David C Start Jr. In 1985, Hullum & Start & CO was established where he worked until he retired on November 30, 2000. He & Betty moved to Johnson City, Texas where he continued his CPA work as a Sole Proprietor completing tax work for a handful of lifetime clients. He stayed involved in various social, civic, and governmental entities using his wide range of knowledge and experience to assist and help them anyway he could. He was very proud to serve as President of the North Blanco Emergency Services District # 1 from April 28, 2008 until his passing.

Edgar is preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Paul Terry Hullum. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Ann Hullum of Johnson City, TX, son, Thomas Lee Hullum of Baytown, TX, daughter and husband, Deborah & John Harvey of Destin, FL, daughter and husband, Melissa & Bill Baldree of Johnson City, TX, Grandson, Jason Cole Thurmon II of Destin FL, Sister and Husband, Wanda June and James Brown of Orlando, FL, Brother and Wife, Delois "Pete" & Tommye Hullum Jr. of Mexia, TX, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on Saturday, April 21, 2018 in Johnson City, TX at the Blanco County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall per his wishes from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. A Graveside Service will follow on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Driver Cemetery in Teague, Texas. Please go to www.edhullum.shutterfly.com for details.

In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to North Blanco County Emergency Medical Services, Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department, Round Mountain Volunteer Fire Department, or a charity of your choice.
