Gayle Olsen Rowe, 88, passed away January 9, 2015 in Ogden, Utah. She was born July 16, 1926, the third daughter of Joseph and Eulalia Yeates Olsen in Hyrum, Utah.
Gayle graduated from South Cache High School in 1944. After graduation, while working as a Military shipment clerk during WWII, she met and married Ken Winn and they had two children. They were later divorced. In 1997 she met and married Bob Rowe. They had seven fun years together before his passing in 2004.
Gayle was a lifelong member of the LDS Church and belonged to the 35th Ward for 56 years. Gayle enjoyed many hobbies. A few of them include; working at the Ogden Temple, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She spent many hours on both water color and oil painting. She also loved entertaining family and friends in her beautiful yard with parties and BBQ's, which she took much pride in doing. She loved traveling and spent many years cruising to many places including Alaska, Italy, and many parts of the Caribbean. The last few years of her life were spent at The Legacy House, where she met and made many friends. While there, she introduced and organized others, into a mean game of Pinochle.
Gayle is survived by two children; daughter, Sydney Jean Coombs, (Steven) of Spanish Fork, Utah and son, Lewis Lee Winn of Albuquerque, NM; her sisters, KarenAnn Roberts of Ogden, Utah and Sue Deon Jensen (Gary) of Mesa, Arizona; her grandchildren Kelly Wright (Joseph) of Queen Creek, Arizona, Traci Wright (Vaughn) of Riverton, Utah, Jordan Smith of Spanish Fork, Utah and Austin Smith of Riverton, Utah. She has nine great grandchildren.
Gayle is preceded in death by her late husband, Bob Rowe, and three siblings; Carol Skrepcinski (Scrap), Yvonne Gunderson (Jack), Clyde Olsen (Joyce), and several nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2015, at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on January 19, 2015, at the 35th Ward, LDS Church, 1475 Cahoon St. with a viewing prior from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow in Hyrum Utah.
