The honeymoon continues in Heaven!
Loyd Earl Shoulders, 85, of Gentryville, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital Boonville. His wife of 64 years, Betty Ruth Shoulders, 83, passed away two days later on May 12, 2018 at her residence in Gentryville.
He was from Lynnville and she was from Pelzer. They resided in Warrick County. They met on a double date and he quickly stole her from his friend, along with her heart.
Loyd was a retired coal miner and jack of all trades. Betty was a retired realtor. Together they enjoyed square dancing and traveling in the RV.
They are survived by son, DeWayne Shoulders of Gentryville; daughter, Darla Garrison and her husband, Tom of Gentryville; grandchildren, Heath Lamping and his wife, Beth of Gentryville; Nick (Brittany) Lamping of Gentryville; Joshua (Renee) Garrison of Gentryville; Ashley Marie Polk and her husband, Jacob of Murryville, Georgia; and Ashley Nicole Willis of Eagleville, Tenn.; great grandchildren, Tyler Staley, Killian Garrison, Emilie Lamping, and Cash Garrison; Loyd's brother, Andrew Shoulders and his wife, Joyce; Betty's brother, John Bullock of Huntingburg, Indiana; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, and great great nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Garrison Chapel Church, seven miles north of Tennyson on Highway 161. This day would have been their 64th wedding anniversary.
