DAVID BRYANT "DADDY DAVE", 82, was born May 10, 1939 in Westlake, Louisiana to the late Roosevelt and Elizabeth Gassaway Bryant. Born in Westlake, he lived most of his life in Lake Charles, Louisiana and was a member of Rose of Sharon Christian Sanctified Holiness Church.

Mr. Bryant was a United States Army Veteran and was the first black captain for the Lake Charles Fire Department after thirty years of service.

David enjoyed life, and some of his interests were watching westerns and Days of our Lives, wrestling, and fishing.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters, Berndette Francis, Winonia Green, Charolette Green Burd, Nellrine Wilson, and LaShalla (Donald Jr.) Davis; sons, Howard Green Jr., Winston Green, Steve (Connie) Green, and Darwin Bryant; brother, Harry Bryant; sister, Betty Bryant Rideaux; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary "Lil Mary" Bryant; daughter, Linda Clay; parents; brothers, Leroy, Tanny, Hamp, Elmer, and Ford Bryant; and sister, Geneva Bryant.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 9AM with her funeral following at 11AM, at True Light Baptist Church located at 1518 Gerstner Memorial Drive in Lake Charles, Pastor Alvin Noel. Pastor Larry Gassaway will officiate.

Burial will be West Fork Cemetery under the direction of James Funeral Home
