A native of Virginia, he was the son of the late Lucille and George N. Ambrose Sr.
He retired as a manager of the Chesapeake Campground. He is survived by his son, Gary N. Ambrose; a sister, Joan Augustine and her husband Jimmy; brother, Ralph Ambrose and his wife Penny; granddaughter, Eleni Ambrose-Kraft; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Rosewood Memorial Park with the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood officiating.
The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, today from 6 to 7 p.m.
