"Services for Carroll M. James of Willow Springs, youngest son of Elsie James of Winston, will be held Thursday morning at Willow Springs with graveside services at the Winston cemetery at 5 p.m. (tomorrow) Thursday.

Mr. James, 52, died Tuesday at his home.

Survivors besides his mother, include his wife, Betty of the home in Willow Springs, one daughter, Susan, Savannah; one son, Edward Keith James of the home at Willow Springs; and two brothers, Harold of South Hadley, Mass., and Ollie of North Kansas City.

A native of Bethany, he grew up in Winston and graduated from school there. Mr. James was employed as a construction worker and is a veteran of World War II."

Carroll was stationed in Hawaii as a Naval serviceman. He was with the 14th Naval District Fire Department. He was also on the softball teams in Hawaii. He and his brother, Harold, were often on opposing teams.

After leaving the service Carroll returned to Winston where he lived a number of years. He continued to play softball on the local teams in the area.

After military service he attended and graduated from University of Oklahoma.
