Obituary - "Utah Pioneer of 1847 Is Dead at Kanarra. (Special Correspondence.) Kanarra, Feb. 25.-- Mrs. Sarah J. Hanks died here recently at the home of her daughter, Irona Davis. Mrs. Hanks was born Oct. 7, 1844, the daughter of William and Sarah Ann Casper. She came to Utah with her parents in 1847, and was a pioneer in every sense of the word. She was the wife of Ebenezer Hanks and was the mother of 12 children, eight of whom survive her. There are also [?4] grandchildren and [??] great-grandchildren. She died as she had lived, a faithful Latter-day Saint" Deseret News, Fri., 27 Feb 1920, photo accompanies article.
