Jedediah was the son of William Wallace Casper and Sarah Ann Bean, early Utah Pioneers. Jedediah married Annie Almira Merrill and had 10 children. Jed and Annie's eight child, Goldie Isabelle, was born soon after Jedediah left for a LDS mission to New Zealand.
