Barrad retired from United Airlines after a 30+ year career working as a pilot and was a member of the Retired United Pilot Association(RUPA).
He was an avid model train enthusiast and a member of the LGB Model Railroad Club.
Barrad is preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Gurwell. He is survived by his children, Suzanne Toloday, Julie Gurwell (Shawn Caudill), Karen Lutz (Scott) and Chris Gurwell (Theresa). He's also survived by his brother, Bill Gurwell, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He will also be missed by Jackie, his faithful Cocker Spaniel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 am on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at the Funeral Home with Interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Donations may be made to the World Wildlife Fund, 1250 Twenty-Fourth Street, N.W. P.O. Box 97180 Washington, DC 20090."
