Joyce Weatherly Sington, age 84, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022. Mrs. Sington was born January 30th 1938 to Jesse and Velma Weeks Weatherly in Birmingham, AL.

She attended Shades Valley High School and the University of Alabama where she met and married the love of her life, Frederic William Sington, Jr. of Birmingham, AL. They were married for 59 years, living most of that time in Gadsden, AL. Known as "Josie" to many, she loved her children and grandchildren as she always said "the mostest".

She was an active volunteer in the Gadsden community, early years with Service Guild and most recently with MANNA. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Weatherly Sr. (Velma); brother Jesse Weatherly Jr (Sue).

Mrs. Sington is survived by her children and spouse, her grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were March 7th, 2022 at Gadsden First United Methodist Church.
