Victor "Vic" John Renkemeyer, 93, of Vienna, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Stonebridge Senior Living in Westphalia. He was born on December 4, 1928 in Vienna, Missouri, a son of the late Lawrence and Francis (Laubert) Renkemeyer. Victor was united in marriage to Mable Marie Brandel on February 13, 1954, at Visitation Catholic Church in Vienna.
He honorably served four years in the United States Army, all of which were spent in the Korean War. For his service, he earned several medals. Victor's experience in the Army played an important role in his life. After his service in the Army, he returned to Vienna where he spent his life farming.
He was well respected for his knowledge in farming and cattle. Victor was a devoted husband and father, a hard worker, and had a great sense of humor. He was a man of strong faith and a lifelong member of Visitation Catholic Church. Victor was devoted to serving God, his community, and his country.
Victor is survived by his step-son, Harold Wansing, Park Hills; step-grandson, Joe Wansing, Farmington; siblings: Naoma Rehagen, Springfield; Bernice Heckman, Wardsville; Lucille Buehler, Springfield; Irma (Joe) Richter, Freeburg; and Don Renkemeyer, Jefferson City; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Victor was preceded in death by his wife: Mable; son: Mike Renkemeyer; step-daughter: Beatrice Wansing; parents; sisters: Viola (John) Richardson, Irene (Victor) Stegeman, Delores (Francis) Markway, Lillian Redel (Charles); and an infant sister: Thelma Renkemeyer; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill Rehagen, Bob Rehagen, Harold Heckman, Velma Renkemeyer, Mike Brandel, Lawrence Brandel, Nora Schmitz, Agnes Kloeppel, Teresa Bauer, Sara Meyer, Dorothy Kloeppel, and Mary Kloeppel.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2022, in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home with a prayer service at 11:15 a.m . A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna. Interment with military honors will follow at Visitation Cemetery, Vienna. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna or as spiritual offerings for Masses.
