Evelyn May Skirvin Stivers
January 11, 1939 - February 28, 2022

Evelyn May Skirvin Stivers, 83, of Solsberry went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 28, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 11, 1939 in Bloomington, Indiana to Reverend William H. and Emmamay Ellen Naylor Skirvin. Evelyn graduated from Bloomington High School in 1957. She married Morris Owen Stivers on August 30, 1957 at her father's Baptist church in Bloomington. Together they had six children. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Evelyn attended Stanford Baptist Church for 35 years. She accepted the Lord Jesus as her Savior as a child and shared her testimony for the rest of her life. She was a faithful servant and loving example of Christ's love to all those around her.

Evelyn was a homemaker when her children were at home and later worked at Indiana University and Stanford Post Office. She retired in 2011.

Evelyn was proceeded in death by her parents, her sons, Morris O. Stivers, Jr and Bob Stivers, son-in-law, Paul Mullis, sister Dorothy Plaisted, great-great grandchild Aiden Keith Hobbs and great-nephew Hunter Brown.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Morris O. Stivers, Sr., her children, Audrey (Steve) Edington of Bloomington, Robin Stivers of Bedford, Tim (Debbie) Stivers of Linton and Dan Stivers of Bedford. Her grandchildren, Missy Hodge, Jamie Bixler, Rick Stivers, Tim Stivers, Jr, Brian Mullis, Owen Stivers, and Josh Stivers. Her sister, Jeanne Skirvin (Rick) Harris and special nieces Amy Fletcher, Krystal Miller and Rachel Williams and many cherished great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 11:00 am at Chambersville Cemetery, 9 North County Line Road East, Spencer, Indiana, 47460. Her grandson, Rick Stivers, will officiate.

Memorials can be made to Gideons International, 50 Century Blvd, Nashville, TN 37214.

Arrangements for Mrs. Stivers has been entrusted to the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes of Bedford.
