Pastor Ron Meade (July 1, 1944 ~ February 27, 2022)
Ron Meade, age 77, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 27, 2022. He was born on July 1, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio to George and Della Meade. Ron grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and he went to Southeastern Bible College and graduated in 1966. Ron and his family moved to Crestview in 1982. In 1998 Ron and his wife Shirley founded Lakewood Church and Lakewood Christian School in 1999. Ron loved to tinker and loved to read. He was constantly studying and learning new things. Ron lived his life, Christ first, family second and his friends. Ron loved to minister to people and loved his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Heather Meade.
Ron is survived by his wife of 55 years Shirley Meade, his daughter Stephanie McAvoy, brother George Meade, and a sister Esther Woods. 150 children loved and called him Papa Ron.
The celebration of Ron's life will be held on Saturday March 5, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Crosspoint North Campus with burial to follow in the Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Ron's memory to Lakewood Church.
