Helen M. Krukar Godleski, 93, passed away Monday in Ormond Beach, FL. Helen was born in Utica, NY and moved to Syracuse in 1940 following her marriage to Lewis A. Godleski. They then moved to East Syracuse in 1952. She was a communicant of St. Matthew's parish where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society and volunteered at the parish school. In addition to raising her five children, Helen held office support and sales positions during her career. She and her husband retired to Florida in 1980 where she was a communicant of Prince of Peace Church in Ormond Beach. She served as a Eucharistic Minister for 25 years, belonged to the Council of Catholic Women and received the Silver Anniversary award for meritorious service while administering to the sick. She was active in several support groups that knitted and crocheted blankets and clothing for infants including the Linus organization, and was a volunteer staff person for the parish "Like New" shop of Ormond Beach that provides clothing and housewares to the less fortunate.
Helen is predeceased by her husband, Lewis A. Godleski; their son, Gary; and grandson, John, her six brothers and sisters, Paul, Stanley, Josephine, Mary Judith (Sister of Nazareth), Stella and Walter.

She is survived by four children, Elizabeth (Larry) Hawkins of New Market, MD, Jack (Liz) of Manlius, NY, Sharon (Francis) A'Hearn of Woodbridge, VA and Maryclair (Paul) Grace of Liverpool, NY; seven grandchildren, Sharon, Mark, David, Chris, Noel, James and Scott; 11great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 9:15 a.m. in MATHEWSON-FORANI FUNERAL HOME, INC and 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Fayetteville. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 206 Kinne St., East Syracuse.

Contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 401 N. Salina St., Ste. 304, Syracuse, NY 13203.
