Faith Marsh Blumenfeld died peacefully on May 21, 2022, after a rewarding life of joy and service. Born September 24, 1928, she grew up on the Marsh family farm on Mudlick Pike, in Cynthiana, Kentucky. As the sixth of seven children, Faith recounted that working in the fields and milking her cow before school made her determined and a hard worker for a lifetime, despite her four-foot, nine-inch frame.

Faith graduated from Transylvania College in 1950, studied nursing in Cincinnati and embarked upon a career to teach nursing in Ohio, Michigan and Illinois. She and Edward Blumenfeld married in 1981. They lived in Phoenix, Arizona, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Pleasant Hill, Tennessee, and traveled the world before Ed's death in 2013. Faith loved hummingbirds, roses, Yorkies and people of all backgrounds, and she met everyone with a joyous smile.

Faith was preceded in death by: her parents, Harry A. and Laura Rorer Marsh; a sister, Margaret Marsh Smith; and her husband, Rev. Edward Blumenfeld. She is survived by: Ed's sons, Philip Blumenfeld and Larry Blumenfeld; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Amber; a great-grandchild; five siblings, Virginia Marsh Bell, Rees Marsh Wilcox, Jack A. Marsh, Joy Marsh Rice and Gay Marsh Perrin; 22 nieces and nephews; and the wider Marsh family, who held her dear.

Faith's ashes will be interred in a small service at Battle Grove Cemetery, in Cynthiana, on June 19, at 12:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on September 17 at The Lodge at Shannondale, in Knoxville, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation might be sent to: Church of the Savior United Church of Christ, 934 Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, Tennessee 37909; or the social justice cause of your choice.
