Dorothy Marie Adamson, 98, Dewey, OK, passed away Sunday morning, February 20, 2022, at Bartlesville Health and Rehab Center.

Dorothy was born October27, 1923 at Fawn Creek, Kansas to Andrew P. Jackson and Annie (Cody) Jackson. She grew up in the Fawn Creek area and began her education, there. Dorothy graduated in May of 1942, from Lenapah High School, (Lenapah, Oklahoma). She married Deryl Adamson on December 14, 1942, at Nowata, Oklahoma. The couple moved to California, where her husband was stationed with the US Navy and upon his discharge, he took a job with Phillips Petroleum in Borger, Texas and the Adamson family moved to Texas. They later moved to the Dewey area and purchased a dairy farm in 1954, operating it until 1959 and then moved east of Bartlesville.

Dorothy had worked as a receptionist/bookkeeper for several doctors and for Wheeler Chevrolet in Caney, Kansas. She was a member of the Dewey First Christian Church and she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cross-stitch and oil painting.

Survivors include one son, Ron Adamson and wife, Nancy of Dewey, Ok; one daughter, Kaye Thomas and husband, Larry of Collinsville, OK; three grandchildren, Dirk Thomas and wife, Lanita and Angela Holler and husband, Greg, all of Owasso, OK and Shylo Adamson of Portland, OR; six great-grandchildren and a special niece, Pat Shearhart and husband, Wayne of Big Cabin, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Deryl in 2010; by a son, Steven Cody Adamson in 1981 and by a sister, Una Storm.
