Hearl Goodpaster, 86, 1340 W. 14th St., died early Sunday at Parkview Nursing Home where he had been a resident for the past five years.
A native of Martin County, he moved to Yorktown as a young man but had lived in Muncie for the past several years. He was self-employed as a painting contractor, retiring in 1971.
His wife, Dicey, died in 1952.
Survivors are two sons, Paul, Indianapolis, and Robert, Houston, Tex.; a brother, George, Bicknell, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Floyd Belew, Yorktown; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Yorktown Church of the Nazarene with Rev. A.F. Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Yorktown Cemetery. Calling hours will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Richman Funeral Home, Yorktown, or at the church one hour before services Tuesday.
