Terry Alan Wellnitz was born on May 30, 1971, in Ortonville Hospital, Ortonville, Minnesota in Big Stone County to Arnold Ralph and Sharon Marie (Schmeichel) Wellnitz. He passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, in Calumet, Oklahoma, at the age of 50.

Terry's ancestry is German. Dutch and Norwegian. He was baptized on June 20,1972, in the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank, South Dakota by Rev. Reuben F Wiegert. He was confirmed by Rev Randy F Bolt on April 17, 1988, in the Emanuel Lutheran Church. He graduated from the Milbank High School on May 26, 1991.

He married Anita Luean (Allen) Wellnitz on March 6, 2006, in Watertown, South Dakota.

Terry lived and grew up in the following towns over his life: Milbank, Colton and Big Stone City, South Dakota; Elizabeth, Kentucky and Clinton, Enid and Watonga, Oklahoma.

Terry enjoyed the temperature/weather of Oklahoma versus the cold of South Dakota! He enjoyed helping others with yardwork, visiting with friends on the back deck of his home, listening to music, and could be seen walking to work, the grocery store, church, uptown, wherever his feet took him.

Terry dreamed motorcycles. He enjoyed his collection of miniature motorcycles that he had displayed in his living room, pictures of motorcycles, along with a large metal hanging of a motorcycle.

Terry is survived by his parents, Arnold and Sharon Wellnitz, brothers Lee David Wellnitz, Dean Walter and Tiffany (Soward) Wellnitz all of Milbank, South Dakota and a sister Tammy Jean (Wellnitz) and Jason Wojahn of Fulshear, TX.; 4 nieces and 1 nephew; Jordan Wellnitz, Watertown, South Dakota, Taybor and Alya Wojahn, Fulshear, TX and TyLynn and Jada Leigh Wellnitz, Milbank, South Dakota. Brother-in-law Chris Allen of Geary, OK and sister-in-law Tina Sirmons of Weatherford, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his wife Anita Luean Wellnitz, a brother, Brian Lee Wellnitz, Maternal grandparents Walther Wallace and Olga Louise (Klepel) Schmeichel, Paternal grandparents Ralph Arnold and Allkie C (Blum) Wellnitz.

At a later day, a celebration of life will be held up in Milbank, South Dakota.
