The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with a time set aside to share memories. A committal service will follow at 2:30 PM in Dublin Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Barfoot was a native of Laurens County and born on March 19, 1925, to the late Arthur W. Barfoot and the late Nannie Lord Barfoot. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the United States Army. He retired from Piggly Wiggly Southern where he worked many dedicated years as a store manager and then as Division Manager. He and his family lived in Dublin, then Americus, Perry, and Tifton before returning to Dublin prior to retiring.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Brantley Barfoot; brothers, Robert, Bernard, Jack, and Fisher; and sisters Lucy Collins Atwood and Celestine Dean
