Nancy Jean (Greenland) Cornelius, 82, of EBT Station Road, Saltillo went to be with her Lord on July 5, 2020. At the time of her death she was residing at Palisades at Broadmoor Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Born May 5, 1938, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late William Guy Greenland and Helen (Miller) Greenland. September 27, 1958, she married her high school sweetheart, Eugene "Gene" Cornelius, to whom she was married for 62 years.

Surviving are daughter Kimberly and her husband, Mark Kimmel, of Colorado Springs, son Tracy and his wife, Karla Madden Cornelius, of Orbisonia, son Todd Cornelius of Saltillo and son Travis Cornelius of Orbisonia. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Jonathan Kimmel and wife, Megan, Maria Kimmel Little and husband, Jonathan, Elisabeth Kimmel Dorosh and husband, Nazari, Olivia Kimmel Meersman and husband, James, Joshua Kimmel and wife, Katie, Brennan Cornelius and wife, Brittany, Tyler Cornelius, Dane Cornelius and wife, Emily, Karis Cornelius, Alexandra Cornelius and Christian Cornelius, and six great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are her siblings, Jane Mills and Ann Sunderland, both of AristaCare at Woodland Park in Orbisonia, Joy Parr and husband, Tom of Leesburg, Virginia, John Greenland and wife, Veronica, of Towanda, and Gail Greenland and wife, Nancy, of Hares Valley.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Cornelius.

Mrs. Cornelius was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Saltillo where she enjoyed many years of singing in the choir.

Various organizations that she volunteered with through the years included the Orbisonia Food Bank, American Cancer Society, Three Springs Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, Ladies Missionary Group at Calvary Baptist Church, Bible school, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She also participated in the Orbisonia Community Choir for several years.

A resident of Saltillo, she graduated from Saltillo High School in 1956. After graduation from high school she went to work for the FBI. After marriage and moving back to Saltillo, she worked many years as a teller at First National Bank of Mapleton in Mapleton, then at Mellon Bank in Broad Top. She also served on the election board in Saltillo for many years. She was also a dedicated mother and homemaker her entire life.

Mrs. Cornelius loved playing the piano and singing and often enjoyed singing for fun with her sisters. Besides her love of music and singing, she also enjoyed writing poetry, cake decorating, painting ceramics and canning. Friend time was important to her and she looked forward to her time in "Marry and Join Us," and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She will be fondly remembered as a sweet friend and loving mother and grandmother.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 31, on the grounds behind Calvary Baptist Church in Saltillo, with an ice cream social following.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church of Saltillo or the Orbisonia food bank.
