Otto Dean Base, 91, of Pomona died Feb. 28, 2003, at home. He was born Feb. 28, 1912, in Johnson City, Kan., and was a Pomona resident for 55 years. He was employed as a financial analyst for Louds and Menasco, where he worked for 18 years, and he retired from David and Margaret Home as a security manager. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Pomona.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva F. Base of Pomona; sons, Wesley Base of Chino Hills and Gerald Base of Pomona; sisters, Edith Van Dale of East Hartford, Conn., and Viola Kallweit of Rancho Cucamonga; brother, Leonard Base of Kingman, Kan.; grandsons, Darwin Base of Ventura and Gary Duane Base of Bel Air, Md.; granddaughters, Pamela Butler of Anaheim and Debra Ryan of Lancaster, Penn.; and eight great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his daughter, Sondra Sanders.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Todd Memorial Chapel, Pomona. Interment will be at Pomona Valley Memorial Park, Pomona. Todd Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
