Leonard C. Base, 98, died March 2, 2013, at Harper, Kansas.

He was born Jan. 18, 1915, at Murdock the son of Jonas and Barbara Saner Base. A lifetime resident of the Kingman community, he was a retired farmer, stockman and custom cutter.

On April 9, 1935, he married Lola Beshore; she died Feb. 8, 2000. On Aug. 25, 2000, he married Ruth King; she survives. Other survivors include a son Clifton and his wife Sharon; daughter-in-law Tammy Base; sister Viola Kalwait; 4 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by son Clint Base; brothers Chester, Otto, Clifford and Curtis; sisters Edna, Ethel, Edith and Goldie; and great-granddaughter Amber Dawn Cinelli.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Hunt Cemetery, Rago.

Memorials may be made with the Salvation Army or to the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
